Event Assistance & Community Outreach

Lend a hand with campaign and civic events—set-up, promotion, hospitality, materials prep, and more. A great fit for those who enjoy fast-paced teamwork and connecting with others to build community spirit.

Digital Communications & Public Information

Contribute to campaign messaging through social media, newsletters, visual content, and event promotion. Help document events, draft updates, and expand our digital reach. Skills in writing, photography, or design are welcome but not required.

Appreciative Inquiry & Story Collection

Support efforts to uplift community strengths by conducting Appreciative Inquiry interviews—conversations that highlight what’s working and inspire new possibilities. Assist with scheduling, note-taking, analysis, and sharing what we learn with the public.

Interviewing & Listening Sessions Team

Help organize and support Listening Sessions where residents share feedback on key priorities like the income tax proposal, housing, accessibility, and town-gown relations. Ideal for those interested in public facilitation, event logistics, and note capture.

Community Inclusion & Accessibility Projects

Join efforts focused on making Athens more welcoming and inclusive. This may involve accessibility audits, event outreach, supporting disability advocacy, or collaborating with local commissions to promote belonging and equitable services.

Campaign Issue Research & Resource Building

Assist with gathering data, analyzing best practices, and developing educational materials that support campaign talking points or legislative initiatives (e.g. housing equity, community safety, racial justice). Great for researchers, writers, or policy-minded volunteers.
