
Micah McCarey Named NLC Centennial Under 40 Impact Award Recipient
Micah was honored with the prestigious National League of Cities (NLC) Centennial Impact Under 40 Award in 2024. In celebration of its centennial, NLC recognized outstanding elected officials under the age of 40 from cities, towns, and villages across the country. Winners were selected from a competitive pool of nominees for their excellence in public service, governance, and community development.

Micah McCarey is a nationally recognized public servant, educator, and advocate dedicated to building a stronger, more inclusive Athens. As an At-Large Member of Athens City Council, he contributes to legislation across a broad range of areas, including:
